Project Executive Summary
Wazert El Saada is a high-traffic consumer retail e-commerce platform. The project involved re-engineering a sluggish legacy setup into a high-performance WooCommerce installation with custom database indexing, Redis object caching, bespoke checkout flow, and automated courier shipping webhook dispatchers.
The Business Problem
A growing product catalog combined with concurrent marketing traffic led to slow server response times (TTFB > 3.5s), cart checkout abandoned sessions, and database locks during flash sales.
Architecture & Engineering Solution
Refactored the WooCommerce data access layer. Implemented Redis persistent caching for transients and product query transients, stripped heavy third-party plugins in favor of custom PHP actions, and optimized MySQL indexes on postmeta and order tables.
